We have received reports of a telephone scam with fraudsters impersonating American Plus Bank's Fraud Department. The caller may request verification of sensitive account information generally related to checks you have previously issued and outgoing wires and they may ask you to change your online banking credentials. If you receive a suspicious call, hangup and contact us directly using a phone number you know to be an American Plus Bank phone number and know that you will never be contacted by our Fraud Department for questionable transactions!

We all know we should review our bank statements frequently.  Sometimes your review is monthly when you receive your Statement, or, if you utilize Online Banking your review is probably more frequent!  These are great habits, but with Check fraud on the rise did you realize you should review and verify your checks as well?  Even though a check you wrote appears on your Statement for the correct amount, the payee may have been altered, so someone else got your money not the person or business you intended to pay!
